On a creeping boobialla plant - not obviously on wood, although there may be some pieces of wood within it - see black marks on lower surface. First 2 pics are upper surface, and last 2 are lower surface. Surfaces look similar. White spores apparently shed on to surroundings when it was moved.

Given the manner in which this is forming above the earth on a creeping plant which has probably retained a great deal of moisture, this appears to have the appearance of Mucilago crustacea rather than that of a Fuligo species.
The entire aethalium is covered by a dense calcerous crystalline cortex composed of granular lime which is white in colour whereas F. septica is usually a yellowish colour. Many of the other diagnostic features are only visible with the aid of a microscope.
