Thanks - this was a known nest site, with the female of the pair laying one egg. The female does the night shift and the male the day. Just after christmas what we think was a Brushtail Possum entered the hollow and killed and ate both the female and the chick. Gang-gangs are longed lived birds and are thought to mate for life. This male has been back many times since the predation event.
