Curious as to why L.sinense was ruled out, it is the commonly natrulised privet, and i'm not conviced that the midrib is glabrous. The stem certainly isn't.

I think I agree with you Tapirlord, as the stems are hairy. So it could be L. sinensis. When I go back to cut and dab it, I'll inspect the midribs.

Barb have you tackled it? it is one of the privets (ie a weed) even if the species is not known.
