User's notes

photos taken from 2 leaves and show: 1. Lerp, the protective cover that the nymph (larva of psyllid) produce from the sap of the tree; 2.) Nymph, probably the 5th instar larva after removing protective lerp; I slightly squeezed the nymph when I removed the lerp cover; note the green sap droplet on the side of the abdomen; 3.) Ventral view of a nymph, earlier stage than 2.); 4.) Lerps and exuvia the moulted skin of a nymph. I assume they are all of the same species.

Sorry Walter, it’s a Glycaspis. A smooth lerp with no fenestration.

Ah, thanks Roger
there is a little lerp on the 3rd photo which seems to be different from the larger smooth structures; it seems to have a lattice structure. I will go back to see whether I can take better photos and whether there are in fact different species.

I googled and found Cardiaspina sp., the Lace or Basket psyllid that builds scallop-shaped lerps see https://focusonfauna.com/2017/11/18/not-more-about-lerps/
It looks different to the Cardiaspina sp of CNM Cardiaspina sp. (genus)

Sorry again. I made a mistake. It is Lasiopsylla rotundipennis, a smooth lerp often found on yellow box. Its incorrectly captioned in my book.
