Vaguely like Ericeia subsignata; maybe Ectropis? Praxis porphyretica (but underside doesn't work); Artigisa melanephele

Well spotted John, I agree its most likely Artigisa impropria.However the CNM system is not letting me add the species to the taxonomy.
A new species record for CNM if approved.

I added it to 'Noctuoid Moths', but we need to delete the one in 'Uncategorised species', which is default when a 'new species' is added.

donhe I am able to add new species OK from time to time., but not always. I think its an intermittent 'bug'in the system. I have already reported to CNM that A. impropria has been incorrectly added to ';Uncategorised Species'. I cannot delete something from Úncategorised Species'', but I still do not see it there in the Úncategorized Species' dropdown menu.

Looking at the 3 Artigisa species on Moths in Victoria (Part 8) supporting disc A. impropria is overall lighter brown, smaller, with more diffuse markings overall than the larger richer brown and more prominatly marked A. melenephele. A. melenelhele has a disdinctly v-shaped entire black chevron mark on thee inner edge of the hindwing whereas on A. impropria it is not so sharply v-shaped, more broken and spotted looking.
