Katarina - as far as I can tell Fieberiella florii is a potential pest species not yet present in Australia - but this does look like it - However I don't know my leafhopper nymphs very well. Do you have a particular reason for thinking that this is what it is? @RogerF @KimberiRP

I tried to identify it by looking on iNaturalist and this is the best match I found. I guess nymphs of different species can be similar looking. In other words no, I have no particular reason for this suggestion.

This species has beenj spreading around the world from north America and was recently found in the UK. What was the host plant that you found it on Katerina? This would be a good clue to its identity and we could also check for adults on the same plant (host plants privet, Photinia, roses etc). The adults look like a pretty non descript cicadellid. I would urge caution with the use of i-naturalist.

Also we need some specimens for a taxonomist to study.

Michael, Can we get specimens to confirm. Has Murray Fletcher looked at the photos.

Not to my knowledge and yes come spring we should look for specimens - I am informed that the advice from experts has been that this is not a species to be overly concerned about but that it should be monitored.
