First CNM record of this localised high country forb listed as rare in Max Gray and Colin Totterdell's book.

I think this is Oschatzia cuneifolia, however the leaves a bit hard to see in the pictures. There are only a few leaves of the plant situated around the base of the stem, while most of the rest are some other plant.

I would not go as far as saying it's rare if you know its its preferred habitat, namely, around the edge of pools, where it's not hard to find. Uncommon would be better. Ned's specimen appears to be growing among Viola betonicifolia

Thanks, Roger, the book I have "Kosciusko Alpine Flora", by Gray, Totterdell, Costin & Wimbush suggests this as a "Rare species" although having not seen this plant before (I'll get there one day, hopefully this year), I don't have anything else to go on. I've listed this as a rare or uncommon native but if this is inappropriate I'm happy to remove the significance posting and list this as "local native". :)

I have a copy of the KAF and read the description, but I have observed it on my many trips in the alpine and subalpine areas of KNP for example the Porcupine Circuit, and the Blue Lake Track. It is in my guide '4 wildflower walks in the Perisher Region..................". ANPS. Available from ANBG bookshop or myself.
