Both sexes of almost all bee species have a pair of spurs on their hind tibia. The inner spur of females is usually comb-like and is presumably used in transferring pollen. The spurs are more noticeable on this male because of his chunky hind tibia. One of the characteristics of Lipotriches is that males of most species have modified hind tibia that come in a range of shapes.
