8-10 plants on the side of the fire trail…….. another first for red hill

Thanks - had to spend a lot of time to ensure that this was not Madgascarian Fireweed - so will need to be aware of this in the field

Thanks, Michael, I had discounted Madagascan fireweed on account of the leaf shape, but I'll count the bracts next time. Probably should've been more wary, given it's a stray daisy on the side of a fire trail. :)

How do you distinguish Fireweed from Groundsel? I counted three times 13 "petals" in the main photo and the slightly toothed leaf in the top mid part of photo 2 looks to me like a leaf of Fireweed.
