Absolutely, it was a really extensive area of it. Note that this photo was taken in the last really wet year (2016). (I'm just getting confirmation of my ID to use the photo on our website). Also note that this was outside the reserve to the north-west of the Offset where the Themeda did really well that year. We had done some weed control through there in previous years but not an awful lot. Of course there are many patches like this on the reserve as well - just that they are now so common it seems I haven't been bothering to take photos :-)
I've also remembered that the other thing about 2016 is that it was the first summer after kangaroo culling reduced the density in the Pinnacle Kangaroo Management Unit down below its "conservation density" (see https://www.fotpin.org.au/kangaroos.html#ccd ). This is perhaps a more significant factor contributing to the Themeda grassland's wonderful display that year in the Pinnacle KMU than the rainfall.
