User's notes

This seemed to be pure black, the stripe is a reflection. Only about 10mm long, is it a juvenile blue garden flatworm?

From your description (pure black), size, and photo, it is Parakontikia atrata. The species can quite often be found hunting at night along the margins of dams and creeks where it may feed on dead insects and other carrion washed up on the shore. Also feeds upon snails.
