Chewing bark together but moved on.

I think they were just enjoying being together, the female seemed to be doing a lot of wing opening, an antic that seems common at the moment (also because it was too big, I couldn't load that photo up).

Thanks John - nesting hollows are lined with anything from 3 - 10 cm of sawdust, originating from chewed bark- so if they were topping up a hollow this would of been of great interest re finding nesting hollows this coming season. We have now found 32 nesting hollows (only 1 on Mt Ainslie) but from year to year there is a low hollow re-use, though pairs do seem to nest near to where they have previously nested.
