Love the Ostrich pose. Or did you put some honey on the cloth for it to lick?
I had to pop a copy into
http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/stat/megathyma.html
Thanks,
Don

Hi Don I confess to never having heard of the ostrich pose, and I didn't know about the honey either! I'll pop over to butterflyhouse and have a look. Cheers Bron

See

for traditional (probably fictional) response of an ostrich to trouble, while hoping the trouble will go away. The pose is often mentioned metaphorically as the response of incompetent politicians to social problems, as well as a challenging yoga position.

Moths with a haustellum traditionally sip nectar (dilute honey) from flowers, such as moths in the superfamilies GEOMETROIDEA, NOCTUOIDEA, PYRALOIDEA, and also SPHINGIDAE.
However: moths in the families ANTHELIDAE, BOMBYCIDAE, COSSIDAE, EUPTEROTIDAE, HEPIALIDAE, LASIOCAMPIDAE, LIMACODIDAE, LYONETIIDAE, NOTODONTIDAE, PSYCHIDAE, SATURNIIDAE, and TINEIDAE have no haustellum.

Interesting on both counts and right about the fuels!

Meanwhile, a common way of capturing butterflies is to paint a mixture of honey and beer on a tree trunk, and then the drunken butterflies are easier to catch. Men and women use a similar technique to capture the opposite sex.
