By agreement between the moth moderators the species Thoracolopha verecunda has been created even though the Australian Faunal Directory does not yet recognise this species. The Thoracolpha genus arose following a formal revision of some named Proteoxoa species by Hitchcock, Edwards and Mitchell in 2018. Moths of Victoria Part 9 gives a detailed description of the T. verecunda species group under Thoracolopha genus (pages 1-6). We will review the species Proteuxoa verecunda accordingly.
