Moths oF Vicroria's supporting disc to Part 4 provides an eight page illustrated visual 'key' to the Geometrinae. Page 5 of that key deals with moths with simple or plain forewing with a hindwing of the same colour; all Chlorocoma spp. There are three Chlorocoma species illustrated on that page with 'yellow on fringe'. C. carenaria shows 'veins pale colured'; C. melacrossa has 'no red on costa'; C. assimilis shows: 'very plain wings, fringe yellow only'. There is further illustrated detail elswhere decribing the detail of the head colours for C. melacrossa which I think conforms with this specimen.

I believe C, melocrossa has a plain yellow fringe all round, not just on the fw costa, (except for a touch of read at the fw base and/or apex). I think the red outside to the fringe other than on the costa makes it closer to C. dichloria.
