Perhaps they have decided it is a potential nest hollow. Two more birds flew overhead before these moved to another tree.

I can't confirm this sighting because it is on land between Isaacs Ridge and Mount Mugga Mugga Natures Reserves. For some reason it was not part of the extension of Mugga Mugga Reserve around 2004. Another victim of lines on a map?
