According to the Floras, Asperula scoparia is never prostrate, while Asperula conferta can be. With this prostrate plant, I would need more evidence that the tips of the leaves are actually sharp, easiest done in the field by gently touching the tips. Asperula conferta also has leaves with pointed tips, though the tips are often curved down. Also, the stem angles of conferta are sparsely hairy or rough hairy, while those of scoparia are densely hairy or rough hairy. Those two characters between them should separate the two species. With low plants like this, when we were doing field work, Don used to lie on his stomach to take his photos.
Thanks Betty I had another look at the plants. In fact the leaves, while pointed, are not sharp. The leaves sparsely to roughly hairy. I think it is more likely A. conferta. I notice Michael Mulvaney has confirmed it as A. scoparia
