This is a species in Neocuris, typified by the abbreviated elytra.

Now that I know who Entom 2 is I think it is an excellent suggestion! Have not been allowed back to ANIC as a volunteer for a couple of months now. This beetle is in there so when I am eventually allowed back I will check it again....I stand corrected !

Goodo Stuart. I have done an Undo of Michael M's confirmation so that the record goes back to being Unidentified and doesn't get sent to ALA.

Thanks Michael. Recently it seems more of my CNM sightings have made it thru to ALA. Hope this continues as for my last two years jewel beetle sightings, approx 100, only 2 had made it to ALA a few months ago. Now there are 18.....
