first pic is of a Whistling Kite sitting in the Willow Tree from Bittern Hide.
Later watched a pair play with a stick, while they were playing there was another Whistling Kite sitting further back in a another tree which we think was their youngster. The pair played for quite awhile pulling a stick from a tree flying up and dropping it and they would take it in turns who caught it on the way down. Sometimes when they were flying close together they would lock claws for a short time before separating and enjoying their flying around. At one stage one of them caught possible a lizard at the waters edge down past Cygnus hide and flew out and ate it on one of the perches over the water. We watched them from a distance for about an hour it was really amazing.
