User's notes

Abandoned nest with five intact elongated duck-sized white eggs in hollow in main trunk of a small tree which fell during rain last night. Hollow was about 4m from ground before it fell and the hole was in a fork and opened upwards (second photo). There were some white feathers and quite a lot of white down, but some of the eggs were dirty so the nest may have been abandoned before the tree fell. Would say it was wood ducks but why are the feathers and down white?
