The 2 thin bands across thorax are characteristic of Lasiocampidae, as are the lateral hairs curving in front of the head. But it is not one of the 17 species of Lasiocampidae for which I know the larvae. It could be any of the other 59 named Australian species in that family.

Thanks Don - much appreciated and very good of the Larvae of this family to have such distinctive markings

Pinara divisa does have orange bands on the thorax (Entometa has blue), but Peter Marriott's photo of the larva of P. divisa in MOV1 just shows a vague brown double zigzag dorsal pattern, rather than the neat orange crescents along the back of your specimen. Could perhaps be a different instar/sex of P. divisa, or one of the other 4 Pinara species that have been found in NSW.
