Looks very similar to several Barea sp. postings on the ALA Barea sp. webpage, for example:

I think it's another Barea codrella

Are there ANIC specimens of B.codrella which match this appearance? The B. codrella images on the ALA all have quite fuzzy markings with nothing like the definition shown in this specimen.

I note a search for B. codrella on Bold Systems 4 draws a blank- apparently not recognised or perhaps renamed? There are many Barea species listed there with images some of which look similar to this specimen.

We've identified several CNM reports as B. codrella. Name is valid.

Glenn,, yes, I agree the name B coderella is valid: AFD recognises it.

No obvious pale bars at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 on the forewing costa.
I think just Barea sp.

It still looks like codrella to me - it is a variable species, see the reports we've already identified as codrella. I'll look again at ANIC.

Yes, you're right, it is different to our Barea codrella. It seems to be a good match for an unnamed species near Barea melanodelta for which ANIC has many ACT specimens. It has an expandable scale tuft at the base of the thorax, and B. codrella also has a scale tuft in that position.
