Looks like you might have two species there, Stuart. The brighter one looks like C. sexplagiata, the other looks different to me.

Correct on both counts Harvey. Have just had word back from a Buprestid expert who confirms one as C. sexplagiata and the other (larger) one as C. australasiae. I will post an individual pic/sighting for the latter presently. Have nine species for the ACT so far and counting !

thanks Michael(b). A few of the usual ingredients have gone into this success so far; lots of time, and patience, good mentoring, good research and an eye for spotting flowering natives. If I had children or a mortgage I would have trouble justifying this pursuit, but luckily i have neither and only working casually I have alot of free time! Most of all, i enjoy the challenge!
