For mine, referring to Moths of Victoria's guide to identifying Ectropis sp. including E. excursaria I don't think the kink in the forewing line is pronounced enough to match that species, and none of the other Ectropis species they show has such a wavering line in the hindwing pattern. In their Ectropis examples (i.e excursaria, bispinaria and calida) all the hindwing lines are relatively straight compared to this specimen.

Good points. I had only looked at the forewings.
In the Ennominae: Hypomecis zaloschema seems closer, but has a more complex pattern along the forewing costa.
The wing patterns look to me to be too subtle for Larentiinae and too complex for Oenochrominae and Sterrhinae, and the posture with hindwings too visible for Nacophorini

Suggest have a look also at Psilosticha mactaria, particulary 3383355. These Boarmiini moths are very difficult when matching a photo to photo (and often still difficult when matching a collected specimen to the ANIC collections). Those that we have against P. mactaria might not be right. it's generally larger than the other options, but that doesn't help us here.
