The name Cassinia arcuata still has a tick in Plantnet, and the name Cassinia sifton is not yet accepted there. However, sifton is accepted by NSW Weedwise and the ACT weeds section.
Betty, Could you please check the CNM sightings of Cassinia sifton? Many of them are not C. sifton but were probably C. aculeata until that disappeared from the list.
The Cassinia species listed in the current ACT plant census are C. aculeata, C. arcuata, C. hewsoniae, C. longifolia, C. monticola and C. quinquefaria. Both C. aculeata and C. arcuata are now absent from the CNM species list. Those Cassinia species now on CNM with images under C. sifton comprise two species, it appears that C. aculeata has also been incorrectly incorporated in to C. sifton.
Thanks Mike - we have a new release for both iPhone and Android in the works will address this and ensure the apps are always re-sync'd with the latest taxonomy changes. If you are in a rush, you can delete and re-download the app as a workaround for now and it will just fetch the very latest taxonomy again when you install it.
