User's notes

A large family with at least two nests. I have included both nests in this sighting as they are the same family and in adjoining trees. This family has gone through many changes. Originally a male and two white-backed females, the male was killed several years ago by the male in the adjoining territory (see pervious sighting for location). He brought an additional female with him but over the next couple of years both the white-backed females 'disappeared'. One female juvenile (distinctive by her white back) stayed and I believed (though can't prove) that the male then eventually mated with this female. She has also since disappeared, but I believe my theory to be correct as evidenced by one of last year's season juvenile also sporting a white back. For some reason, this family seems to have grown in number since early this year, from five to seven, but now back to six birds. This number could be incorrect as their seems to be a confusion of boundaries in the past month or so.
