With the face in shadow it is hard to say. WB Cuckooshrikes are quite rare in these parts. Was there any particular reason for your ID? I suggest a BF Cuckooshrike- if the eyepatch was smaller, that would have been a young bird.

Adult pair roosting at the dead tree at the end of the Tuggeranong Stone Wall on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. They were flying separate to the other 3 pairs of Black-faced up on the main archery field area. As you correctly mention, hard to be 100% sure with the shadows. I will continue to try to get a confirmation sighting.
