It's hard to be sure from the photos, but I suspect this is a peloric form of Caladenia fuscata, where the labellum, instead of being highly modified as usual, has developed to look like a normal petal. I would be interested to know if there were any others around, or if this was a single 'mutant' flower.

I was a little confused at what I was looking at but I think there were about 10 other flowers like it in a patch about 10m x 10m

I was intrigued, so went searching and, amazingly, found 4 of these plants. A normal labellum was definitely absent and was replaced by an unmodified petal. The colour was also a bit different - creamy rather than white or pink - and the segments were slightly narrower. I will post some picures separately (sighting 3360244).
