Nearly every one of these Cassinia arcuata shrubs i have seen has broken branches. Is this caused by kangaroos or birds?

Same situation on Mt Majura, and same problem observed for the other cassinia species (longifolia and quinquefaria). We have to protect Cassinia (and other species) plantings with heavy forts of woody debris - turned out the best are hawthorns and large briar roses.
Each! single! plant requires 3 hours! of maintenance! until it is established!
