Wahlenbergia stricta. It fits the description and illustration in Burbidge and Gray and despite the fact that the flower is not in focus, there is little doubt. It's not W. communis or Linum sp

I am not sure it was a wahlenbergia as it had pairs of soft light green leaves all the way up the stem - I didn't think these looked like the ones usually found on wahlenbergias and the petals are more rounded, but having looked at the blue pimpernel, I don't think it looks ilke that either. Happy for it to be inconclusive as it wasn't a good photo. Maybe I can find another and supply a better photo.
