Hi Mike, this butterfly looks suspiciously like a Fiery Copper (Paralucia pyrodiscus), hard to be certain without seeing the upperside of the wings. I'm only aware of a few locations for this species in the ACT. I realise this photo was taken in 2012 but if you happen to be in the same area again could you please keep an eye out for any Fiery Coppers?
