Hi Alexandia, I am helping Michael with the GG research project he is referring to. Each reported possible nesting is rated according to various criteria. For instance a rating of 5 is of chicks observed being fed at the nest. A stage 4 is a very likely GG nest, seen on multiple occasions at or near and entering hollow on at least one occasion. Concerning the observations for this year would you rate your observations as a 4 or a 5. From your description I am assuming a 4. Chris

4= very likely, seen on multiple occasions at or near and entering hollow on at least one occasion
5= confirmed, non-flying young seen at entrance

Great news thanks for that - this tree will become part of a research project into the breeding behaviour of the species

Hello Michael,
Yes I think so, we moved in towards the end of them being in the nest but could hear them crying out to be fed and could see them in the hollow
