I'm pretty confident this is a Ceromitia spp., but I'm not confident as to species. There are two other named species on Bold Systems 4 which look very similar. Although probably not C. iolampra because that species has black banding across the forewing.

I think the wing scales have been smudged in many of the BOLD specimens. Ceromitia lobatahas no country indicated and does not occur in any Australian list, Ceromitia wahlbergi has bold stripes and is from South Africa.

The unillustrated Ceromitia autoscia was described by Meyrick from a Gisbourne specimen as having forewings "whitish grey, irregularly strewn with small fuscous dots and strigulae".
Turner's description of Ceromitia leptosticta forewings is "white, with numerous pale-grey dots tending to form interrupted transverse strigulae"
This specimen appears to be grey with white dots

I think it is an undescribed species.

This species apparently also has a blackish woolly head with a prominent white patch.
