Young plant: isolated on satuated soils, resulting from lower water levels as wetland begins to dry out.

Possibly. The leaves look about right. Though Ranunculus plebeius, Ranunculus repens and Ranunculus sessiliflorus have very similar leaves, and they all like moist sites.

Noted. This was noticeably robust, and was in an area where Ranunclus scleratus hence the name.
