Very late in the season for this to be flying, pretty sure we don't have a May record on CNM and Suzi will be able to confirm if she has any records of flying adults from May in the ACT.

Hi Kurt, Matt. Yes, you're right, there are no May records for Tailed Emperor so thanks and congratulations on a significant find Kurt! Did you notice any eggs or larvae on the Kurrajong? Your butterfly is a female so she may have laid eggs on this plant. Kurrajongs are one of the Tailed Emperor food plants in the ACT, and there are larvae of various instars on other Kurrajongs around at the moment.

Hi Suzi, well this is interesting, until yesterday I only knew I took a picture of some sort of butterfly! Unfortunately it was too high up in the tree for me to have a closer look. Could climate change have anything to do with this late sighting?
