Great find John - Conservation Research will contact you separately, but we would like to collect any dead Bandicoot specimen for genetic analysis and to try and work out what may have been the cause of death. Even a few hairs with some skin attached from mangy carcasses would be much appreciated

It was memorable to meet John in the field last night at Mt Ginini (moth photography night) and be shown this very rare specimen!

It was collected by another person in our group and will be passed on for study.

Richard brought in the specimen today. Very exciting in that it is a young juvenile (perhaps 4-6 months old) indicating that breeding is happening up in Namadgi. Also we agree with Richard that it was most likely dropped by a bird of prey.
