Feeds on Fabaceae (peas), perhaps exclusively. The abdomen (metasoma) of males is brown anteriorly, black posteriorly. Females are less colourful, but with small yellow markings on the face.
This species was discovered on Black Mountain in Canberra, and identified in 1981. It has been recorded at several sites along the east coast of NSW (although there are relatively few records).
