Eleale simplex (Clerid beetle)

An elongate, shining black beetle, sometimes with a greenish tinge; the antennae are yellow, at least towards the tips, and the scutellum is white. The prothorax is only slightly longer than wide, and bulges at the sides. The elytra are widest at the shoulders, narrowing towards the middle then slightly widening again nearer the apex; they are densely pitted in the middle but with shallower pitting basally and apically, so that these areas are shiny. The femora are swollen.

This identification is tentative and may involve several species including E. intricata as well as E. simplex
