Helen, there are two mound building termites here. I'm not 100% sure but this looks very like Nasutitermes exitiosus, which is one of the Gluegun termites, whose soldiers have a long sharply pointed snout, and which builds a mound that is fairly soft, eg if you kick it you are likely to make a dint on the surface. The other local mound building species is the Milk Termite Coptotermes lacteus, whose soldiers have visible dark brown jaws which are usually carried wide open, and whose mounds are so hard you could break your foot if you kicked hard enough. Does that info help identify it?
