It is the same deal with this sighting. In the ACT there is only one point at high enough altitude to provide sufficent habitat for subsp niphophila, the summit of Mt Bimberi. That population occurs between 1910 and 1880m altitude in very limited habitat.

We are several hundred metres too lower here hence true niphophila is out of the question. I would suggest these are an intergrade form between subsp pauciflora on the slopes below, and the lower edge of subsp debeuzevillei which becomes dominant as the brindabella range climbs higher. A similar and interesting intergrade occurs on Mt Bimberi between subsp niphophila and subsp debeuzevillei, see Eucalyptus pauciflora subsp. niphophila (Alpine Snow Gum)
