I can only take it as far as Genus because it is a back pattern present on both species of Crinia. To take it further I would need and image of the belly and as you had it in your hand that would have been a useful addition to the posting. If you can remember if the belly was marbled black and white, or granular grey that would be a great help.

Hi Wombey, thanks for the feedback. I did check it’s belly and it was grey and finely speckled/mottled.
