Any chance of rearing these to check on the adult moths?

I have these and some others that were feeding on Hypochaeris radicata. Do they pupate in the ground or leaf litter? How long is the pupal stage?

Great questions. I don't think anyone has published the answers. My guess would be that they diapause across winter as pupae, and the adults would emerge next spring, but they may squeeze in two generations a year, and pupate soon, and the adults emerge in a few weeks time. It would be good if you could note such things with your beasties, and add your observations here together with photos of the resulting adult moths.
