This is the fourth time I have seen a Monarch butterfly in the garden this January (see also Sighting 4365611). I had not seen one in Canberra before.

Seems to have been quite an influx this season, I've seen them a few times at my place and in nearby Mt Taylor Nature Reserve.

Thanks, they are so lovely to watch but a bit sad, as I understand their caterpillar food plants don't survive the winter here.
