User's notes

A small number of these ants on the trunk of this tree. Often had to wait quite a while to find another. Very tiny and hard to photograph. Tried to photograph some that were even smaller but not good photos. Last photo shows it against a teneral lady beetle (possibly common spotted lady beetle) for size comparison.

I am unaware of any wingless bees. Could they be female mutillid wasps?

Wings are visible, lying flat and overlapping on top of the abdomen.
