Gahnia subaequlglumis has a fairly restricted distribution in the ACT and seems to be at its greatest abundance in the Gibraltar Creek area. In her book Suzi Bond (p68) states that it is the preferred larval food plant of the Flame Sedge-Skipper, which is an uncommon sighting in the ACT
