User's notes

Even for a fantail its flight was high energy. It was wheeling all over the place, doing circuits between the trees and shrubs as well as flying loops out and back to trees. I had no idea what it was doing when it flew at me, before flying in a circular pattern around my head. I do not think it was trying to warn me off, as it only did it once, and I stayed in one place. I believe it was just practicing its flying and I happened to be a good obstacle to fly around.

My grand daughter (14 months old) and I spotted Grey Fantails this week. It took some time before we could catch sight of them. Three turned up flitting through our mulberry tree. Suddenly one flew straight for us, at the last seconds, darts away. Showing us its flight skills. We watched them for ages. Darting and calling from the bottlebrush tree and back to the mulberry tree. They were very entertaining! Their dancing, flaired tails and wonderful calls. We were enthralled! !
