Aaron, that looks like a rock lying beside the head. As the snake is dead it would have been helpful to remove the rock for the photograph.

This was a photo I took a few years ago and I was just going through them so thought it would be a useful record. I hadn't really noticed the rock. It is a pity that people still kill snakes deliberately. I could photoshop it out if you like. It is not a great image it was more for the record.

The image was more than good enough to id the snake. Removing the rock would have only helped if id was difficult. The image is fine, leave it as it is.
