In water sample squeezed from vegetation at the edge of slow flowing seepage area. Specimen photographed was 22 µm across at widest point and 190 µm across the tips at the longest point.
Steve skinner of the NSW Herbarium said "This appears, without measurements to be Closterium ehrenbergii, the Cl. malinversianum form or similar [I'm not a desmid expert!] Please remember that these determinations are done without microscopic examination on my part; I don't know any measurements, and there is often little reproductive information in the pictures. I also don't have precise locations or any water data.
