I think a suggestion for species ID for this individual would be the same as the one in this sighting (Hypoblemum albovittatum): Jumping & peacock spider (Salticidae) Hypoblemum sp. (genus) (Unidentified Hypoblemum jumping spider) on 13 May 2017
The reasoning is the exact same as the one in the comment for the link above. Although the light-coloured hairs on this one is much whiter than the other one and the individual referenced from the book, the features are all still the same and slight colour variations would occur across any species.

Hi Yumi
I recently came across a 2019 revision of Hypoblemum - see comments in sighting 4206712.
I believe the shaggy-looking individuals like this one would now be called Hypoblemum griseum, and the smoother ones (formerly H. albovittatum) become H. scutulatum. So all the Hypoblemum sightings will probably eventually need to be renamed!

Hi Cath,
Yay it's good that it's progressed! My copy isn't the revised one so the Hypoblemum section is full of uncertainty... It would be great if the sightings on CNM could be revisited and updated with the recent confirmations!

You can find the paper online at https://peckhamia.com/peckhamia/PECKHAMIA_180.1.pdf

Thank you! I'll have a read; I should probably also go back through the sightings I suggested Hypoblemum albovittatum for based off my copy and update it with the recent changes.

FYI, I've added the 2 new species you suggested to our system - Hypoblemum griseum & Hypoblemum scutulatum.

Will H. albovittatum and H. villosum be removed from the system now that there's H. griseum and H. scutulatum instead?

I will leave that up to Michael Mulvaney after the ID's have all been reviewed.
