Mike Strawberry Tree have pretty shallow roots, you may be able to pull out be hand

I wish the contractors had pushed them over while they were digging the trail. They did remove some small privets. Seeing the shrubs are 3m tall I don't think 'pretty shallow roots' would mean they can be pulled out by hand.
